AUTHOR-LED FIELD PRACTICE

Landscape Acupuncture

Precise interventions at selected points can support ecosystem recovery.
About the Method
Landscape Acupuncture is Bronislav Reznik’s author-led field practice, developed from years of classical acupuncture experience and adapted to degraded and unstable territories. Soil, water, vegetation and terrain are considered parts of one interconnected system.
How the Work Is Done
The work begins with reading the site in place: terrain, water movement, soil condition and vegetation. At selected points, a precise intervention is carried out with natural materials, without large-scale earthworks or heavy machinery.

The method may be relevant for degraded, exhausted and eroded land, sites affected by agricultural or industrial activity, and territories where restoration measures are being planned. Each site is assessed individually; the method complements engineering and ecological measures.

The Principle

An ecosystem is a single living system in which everything matters, from soil to the animals that inhabit the territory. By influencing one element, we may affect the wider system. The aim is to support ecosystem recovery through minimal, precisely placed interventions.
Fieldwork means reading the terrain, water, soil and vegetation on site. At the selected location I record the initial condition and carry out a precise intervention with natural materials to support recovery without large-scale restructuring.

After the intervention, the initial condition is recorded and observation continues through subsequent seasons. We assess changes around the point and any possible response beyond it. The absence of measurable change is also a valuable research result.

A Precise Point
The Principle
Soil, water, vegetation and terrain are considered parts of one interconnected system. That is why location matters as much as scale: the work focuses on key points where a precise action may support natural processes.
